Tax Calculators

Our free tax calculators help you estimate what HMRC might owe you, in seconds and with no sign-up. They use HMRC’s own flat rates and approved rates, so you get a realistic picture before you claim. Pick the calculator that fits your situation below.

Tax Rebate Calculator

The all-in-one estimator. Add your uniform, mileage, professional fees and working from home costs, choose your tax rate and how many years to claim, and see your estimated total rebate across up to five years.

Use the Tax Rebate Calculator.

Mileage Claim Calculator

If you drive your own vehicle for work and your employer pays less than HMRC’s approved rate, you can claim Mileage Allowance Relief on the shortfall. This calculator works out the relief based on your business miles and what your employer pays.

Use the Mileage Claim Calculator.

How the calculators work

Each calculator applies the same logic HMRC uses:

  • Uniform: a flat rate allowance (the standard rate is £60 a year, higher for some trades).
  • Mileage: 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles, then 25p, minus anything your employer already pays.
  • Professional fees: the fees you pay to approved bodies and unions.
  • Working from home: a flat rate where you are required to work from home.

You receive tax relief on these amounts at your tax rate (20 percent for basic rate, 40 percent for higher rate), and you can usually claim for the current tax year plus the previous four.

From estimate to claim

A calculator gives you a realistic estimate, not a guaranteed figure. The only way to know exactly what you are owed is a proper review of your job, expenses and tax code across every eligible year. That is what TaxPro does, on a no win, no fee basis, so a percentage fee only applies once your refund is secured.

Start your claim with TaxPro and we will turn your estimate into a real, fully checked claim.
